Immigration Support Services
A research project for middle years students studying Canada

Students take on the role of Citizenship and Immigration Officials from different regions of Canada, (The North, BC, The Prairies, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada). Their task is to set up an office and prepare materials that will assist immigrants in adjusting to their new communities. Officials will prepare information on their regions':

They will then present their information to a group of 'immigrants' ready to learn about their new home.

Each component of the project is designed with the following elements:

    1. integrates core curriculum areas
    2. uses technology in authentic ways
    3. makes use of a variety of learning strategies
    4. promotes effective research practices
